JazzFest organizers have estimated a record breaking year for the 25th JazzFest celebration!
The three-day event estimates the overall attendance to be close to 130,000 people.
“On Friday night, during our performances for Kenny Wayne Shepherd and The Fray, our crowd swelled to around 65,000 people inside the park,” reported by Robert Joyce, Executive Director of Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues. “We believe Friday was one of our largest crowds ever and we are very pleased to report no major incidents.”
The three-day festival began on Thursday, July 14th with headliner Tab Benoit, continued on Friday with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and The Fray, and ended Saturday, July 16th with Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers and Coco Montoya.
JazzFest is organized by the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society, a non-profit arts organization. Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band and The Fray were presented in part by a gift from Midco. Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers were presented in part by a gift from First PREMIER Bank / PREMIER Bankcard.
